📝Job Description :
As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, configuring and maintaining some of the most complex data systems we use, including relational, non-relational, in-memory, persisting and distributed databases and parallel processing systems. You will work closely with our Data Science, software and infrastructure teams providing robust and read-to-scale data pipelines.
This is an opportunity for building and maintaining “Gini”, the best AI assistant for geospatial analytics (released in February 2026!)
Gini is leveraging our unique proprietary insights databases and delivering it through an LLM-powered platform to our clients. You'll be instrumental in optimizing our data stack, collaborating across Product and Tech teams, and making crucial decisions that will shape the best infrastructure for these proprietary insights databases.

💼 To give you more details about your day-to-day at MyTraffic :
Your main goals will be to:
Design and implement new architecture for big data ingestion, process and storage
Build data pipelines to automate the ETL processes of all the sources we combine
Collaborate with Data Scientists, Software Engineers to define flexible and scalable solutions
Contribute to the infrastructure configuration with our beloved DevOps
To deliver this, you will join our talented French and Spanish team which has extensive experience in Big Data environments. You’ll have the opportunity to play with a very large amount of daily updated geolocation data in France and Europe, and develop your skills and challenge new technologies that could bring more value to our technical stack.

🎓 Education
At least 3 years of XP as a Data Engineer in a tech environment
MS degree in Computer Science or related fields
💪 Hard skills
Proficiency with a wide range of different databases. At MyTraffic different pieces of data are consumed from PostgreSQL, Redis, BigQuery, Snowflake, Athena… so you will never get bored!
Strong software development fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, etc.)
Experience working with a Cloud based environment (extra-kudos for GCP and AWS) and designing robust and scalable data architectures with orchestrators (Airflow), data pipelines and ETL processes (Spark) for multiple data sources, ensuring data quality and integrity.

Excellent problem-solving skills crafting simple and elegant solutions
Ability to challenge existing tools and processes, and proactively suggest improvements
Curious and rigorous: You like learning new things, and you are not afraid of going out of your comfort zone if needed. You are interested in what the rest of the team is working on and like participating in discussions and suggesting new ideas.
Organized and methodical: you like starting your projects by defining a plan of steps to reach, having your Jira board up always to date and with well described tasks, and you like clean, self-explained and reusable code.
English speaker with good oral and writing skills: you feel comfortable explaining complex technical concepts in simple ways to Product Managers or Data Scientists, at the same time that you are able to discuss and confront ideas in a technical style with engineers
Nice to have
Experience working with spatial data or GIS systems
Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes for deploying and managing applications
Familiar to algorithms using geolocation data (timestamp, latitude, longitude)
Published open source code
